On Thursday night, myself and the girls from work headed to Belfast Fashion Week. We thought it would be something a little different to celebrate Alex leaving, one of the girls on our team. We started with dinner at Coppi located in St. Anne’s Square. The rustic décor and chilled out atmosphere, made it the perfect setting for dinner before we headed to the show. Oh! And did I mention the food was to die for. After dinner we headed to St. Anne’s Cathedral which was so beautiful. I loved the contrast of the old building and the Art Nouveau interior to the contemporary setting of the night. Tiffany Brien hosted along with Cathy Martin and they done a brilliant job. Tiffany Brien is someone I look up to in the blogging world as she is like the OG (original gangster) of Bloggers in Northern Ireland and has done so well for herself. Plus she looked insane in a Kevanjon Dress from Blush Boutique on the Lisburn Road. I also have to talk about Cathy Martin’s Jumpsuit, it was A-mazing!! She teamed it with a seriously sleeked back High Pony tail and heels and it was just everything!
We were attending the Designer show so there was a selection of brands and designer boutiques, some I have heard off and other I hadn’t, so it was nice to be introduced to new Northern Irish talent. Blush Boutique opened the show and from that an array of different brands, garments and colours graced the runway. The stand out for me was In_chlomo, it was so quirky and different. They infused different colours, textiles and fabric to create these amazing and unique designs.
What I wore
For Belfast Fashion Week I went for a sassy black velvet trouser suit from the Walk in Wardrobe. As soon as it came in I instantly fell in love. It wasn’t petite but the Walk in Wardrobe stocks some European brands and I find their sizes are slightly smaller, so they are perfect for my petite frame. The only thing I had to do was alter the leg length but I was able to do that myself quick and easy. I “hmmm and haaa’d” about what to team with the suit. My first option was a lace body suit which I thought would look so sleek but I then thought that it might be better suited for a night out with the girls. So instead I opted for a cool little logo tee from New Look, black and white of course. I thought that it was a more chilled, effortless look, perfect to match the chilled atmosphere of the evening. I teamed my look with some Primark heels and a gorge little box bag from New Look. I am loving velvet at the minute, it just reminds me of winter and I think this suit will be a go-to piece this season. I know even as separates I will get great wear out it. FYI… the velvet two piece suit is an online exclusive to the walk in wardrobe and also comes in a rich burgundy colour, which is equally as fab. You can buy it here.
Belfast fashion week continued over the weekend in different locations across Belfast. I think it is a brilliant event and it showcases the style of our little continent. I honestly think that Belfast has some of the best style, no-one is afraid to step outside of the box and express their individuality so it’s great we can celebrate it like this.
