HEY!!.. I was doing just fine……(you know the rest)
Yep you guessed it, if it wasn’t from my snapchat pollution or my overkill of insta stories you would have seen I was at the Chainsmokers on Monday night. Omg what a night! I have loved them ever since the first time I heard “closer” which still remains up there in my top 10 songs ever (can you tell I’m a fan?). Also Anne Marie was the warm up act and she was so good, really got everyone going for what was to come.
Now onto they style! Festival season is just the best, you can just match anything with everything and it will just work. The more retro and Quirky, the funkier the look. Despite the rain, everyone was still working their daisy dukes, crop tops and face glitter. Although I do feel like the rain makes a festival sometimes, don’t you agree? It nearly brings out the “f**k it, just embrace it” attitude in everyone. Your soaked just like everyone else so vanity goes out the window and the focus is on the music and just having a good night.
So it being probably the first and last “festival(ish)” thing I would be at this year, I wanted to go all out. However getting tickets a week before the concert didn’t leave many options open to wear what I wanted as I only had a few days to order things online to ensure it would be here on time. Luckily I had bought this little two piece a few months back, (just because) with no notion as to where I was wearing it too. So it came in very handy when I needed something last minute. This little two piece is from Boohoo Petite and it was only £20 for the set. The top was a (very) cropped top with bell sleeves and matching shorts featured the same pattern with an elasticated waist, which was so comfy
This is a pic of it from the website so you can all have a clearer picture of what it was like. I teamed mine with a double buckle belt which I got off eBay, about two years ago. But Topshop do a very similar one (pictured below) which is £20.
Because of Ireland’s wonderful unpredictable weather I wasn’t sure what to wear on my feet so of course I ordered two different options, one for sunny weather, the other for rain. As you probably guessed it rained (shock!) so I opted for these funky lace up boots that I had ordered off Depop. I was a Depop virgin before this but I have always wanted a pair of Doc Martins but was worried they would make my legs look even shorter. So I thought I would try and test these babies before committing to buying a real pair. And my verdict…..loved them! I actually thought they were the perfect length for my legs and didn’t come up to high which is what I wanted. They were originally from Primark so might be worth keeping that in mind as they may come back in for Autumn/winter 2017. Finally my jacket. Obviously at any festival it is a given, there will rain at some point and I certainly didn’t want to get wet nor did I want to cover my outfit so I came across this waterproof jacket in New Look. It was perfect because it was completely clear but still kept me dry. It was £19.99 and was honestly the Best Buy, as I’ll be able to wear it all the time.
I wanted real festival vibes for my hair and make up, so my best friend Claire got that job (bless her, she didn’t had the option). I went for soft waves, and a Dutch braid along the top, finished off with some funky hair rings. I just got them off eBay for £2, which was brilliant cause you can reuse them if you are a constant festival goer. And for my make up, I went for my usual smokey eye using the Huda Beauty eye shadow pallet which is seriously extra and some serious contouring using the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour pallet. Literally what dreams are made off. To finish, glitter! As if I was going to go to a festival without some sort of sparkle on my face.
Bria and Claire were also embracing their summer vibes with their outfits. Bria wore a lilac mesh dress with a matching slip under it, teaming it with a thin double buckle belt to nip her in at the waist. To accessorise she rocked fishnet socks and silver flat form brogues, giving it a future’isc vibe. She had festival hair down to a T with her quirky space buns. Bria done her own make up, which was so fab. She went for a dark smokey purple eye and off course added the ever so important face gems.

Claire opted for a cool festival look and wore every girls festival essential- her denim shorts. She teamed it with a black embroidery top and her trusty converse. Real sporty vibes. She also done her own hair and make up. She wore her hair in a high top knot and wore her make up natural but defined. She again used her Anastasia Beverley Hills contour pallet and smoothed her face in ABH highlighter (a girl can never have to much). Finishing off of course with a few fave gems.
