So Sue Slays…

What a day…. I mean, getting to see one of my favourite bloggers in thee most beautiful place, was definitely not your normal Saturday. Yes I am talking about So Sue Me and of course I’m talking about the beautiful Galgorm Resort and Spa, honestly that place is unbelievable, I have no words.

So Sue Me was probably one of the first bloggers I really started to following about three years ago and is someone I have always looked up to. When she announce she was coming up north, the gals and I were all over it. Honestly, I was more excited to hear about her career and how she has got to this is point more than anything. For those of you that don’t know her, do you live under a rock? lol I’m just joking! She is probably one of the biggest beauty and fashion bloggers from Ireland, and has had continual success, from travelling around Ireland doing her style workshops to launching her own beauty brand ‘SoSu by SJ’ and most recently breaking into the UK market with high street giants Primark and Pretty Little Thing stocking her lashes.

We managed to shimmy ahead of the crowd and get the best seats. With her warm welcome and chatty nature, Sue started talking about her career up until now. She explained how she went from being a collage drop out, to working in topshop and then from Topshop enrolling in beauty school and working in a local salon. After becoming hugly popular in the salon, she hit another brick wall and wanted a new career path. This is when she went into HR which she then become redundant. Bang! Many people would just give up wouldn’t they? However she started working part time in a radio station, where she met many celebs etc and this is where the blog started from, and now look at her, Just goes to show you hey? As well as a career talk, she then done a contour demo on her new contour kit, which honestly looked unreal and finally she put her fashion style and tips to good use with a fashion show, showcasing some summer looks.
While myself and Martine sipped on majitos and martini’s ( are you starting to see a trend here? 🙈) Sue’s guests took to the stage. First up we had skin expert, Corina from Monica Tolan, Heath and Beauty salon in Malahide. She discussed the importance of vitamin A and SPF especially coming into the warmer season. She also talked about Environ a skin care range that she uses herself in her salon. This lady really knows her stuff about keeping the skin healthy so much so that I started to worry as to how I’m looking after my own (she nearly died when someone asked about baby wipes, I just kept my head down). We also had make up looks from the brilliant Sinead Murphy had The fabulous Louise McDonald (LMD), I’m sure everyone on here knows her but for those of you who don’t Louise, she is an unreal make up artist from Northern Ireland. Louise took us through a complete make up look, using high end and drugstore products, she made it look so easy!! Sinead is a class make up artist from Dublin. Sinead demonstrated a simple summer eye and the best way to apply the So Sue Me Lashes. It was nice to get some more tips on the best shadows for brown eyes and how to get the most perfect chiselled check bones. Instagram @lmdmakeup @sineadmurphy90

Finally we had Imelda Maguire from MelMarie weaves, these things are class! It’s like a synthetic hair piece that you clip in under  the top layer of your hair and you get instant volume.  It literally took Imelda 5 minutes to put the piece in and the difference was fab! And they are so easy to style along with your own hair. Her instagram is @melmarie_weaves to see all the different way you can use your weave. She done Sue’s hair on the day too.

What I wore

It was such a nice day so I opted for these beaut tomato red, wide legged trousers from Autograph in M&S. I loved the contrasting navy and white waist band.  The trousers weren’t petite, however I was able to get them taken up and taken in to fit be perfectly. I teamed it with this white one shoulder top from New Look and my nude day heels also from New Look.

Myself and Martine had a brilliant day down at Sue’s workshop in he Galgorm Resort and Spa. It was a brilliantly run day by Sue and all her family who were there supporting her, which I thought was so lovely. If you have her on snapchat, you will know she is coming back to the north for one last show before she gets married and I would 100% recommend it.
